Relieved

I'm very, VERY happy to be home in Missouri (spring thunderstorms or not). Don't get me wrong, I love my family, but sometimes their craziness gets the best of me. I'm so happy to be feeling normal again - falling back into my routine. Got time to work on art again! Yay! So happy to have the cats now too. I have my fur-family complete at last.

Yes, but I'm keeping Harley79's title cuz it's much better.

[02] Would you do meth if it was legalized?
Absolutely not. The long-term use of methamphetamine can cause damage to the brain similar to that caused by Alzheimer's disease. Sounds like a party, huh?

[03] Abortion: for or against it?
I'm pro-choice. Maybe that girl has damn good reasons for not wanting to bring a kid into this world. And I know as an unwanted kid myself who "ruined" my mom's young life there are times I wish she'd have just had an abortion instead of raising me in a home full of hate like she did. The kid is probably better off.

[04] Do you think the world would fail with a female president?
Absolutely not. Let's face it, the president has very little real power. The real power is in the Congress and Senate which is still majority old wealthy white males. Even if there is a female president it won't change much.

[06] Do you wish marijuana would be legalized already?
I've never done an illegal substance in my life, and I can tell you I fully agree that it SHOULD be legalized. Let's look at alcohol which is perfectly legal. It has killed more people than all illegal drugs COMBINED. How many deaths has weed caused? ZERO. Put that in your hookah and smoke it my friends.

[07] Are you for or against premarital sex?
I've always liked this saying, "Waiting until you're married to have sex is like buying a car without driving it first."

[08] Do you believe in God?
I don't believe in the traditional concept of God. I do however believe in a universal force which connects us all to each other and to all other life on this planet. I believe in doing what is right, morality, respect, and love. This is my concept of "God" - not some old guy in white robe with a long beard sitting in a golden throne up in the clouds.

[10] Do you think it's wrong that so many Hispanics are illegally moving to the USA?
As a Caucasian with Irish immigrant roots I believe I am not truly entitled to an opinion. If you think about it, the only people with a real right to be here in the USA are the Native Americans. Everyone else is an immigrant who wasn't welcome when we got here - or we were used by the upper class as either slaves or indentured servants.

[11] A twelve year old girl has a baby, should she keep it?
If she has a strong family unit to support her and the baby - then yes, if she desires to raise her child. Otherwise, I'd see adoption as a viable option.

[12] Should the alcohol age be lowered to eighteen?
No, I think all the limits that are currently 18 should be raised to 21 - like military enlistment. Have you seen these 18 year olds today? They're all a bunch of kids still. Immature and unwise to the ways of the world.

[13] Should the war in the Middle East be called off?
As a military wife I fully support our troops BUT not the rich man's war that the military is being forced to fight.

[14] Assisted suicide is illegal: do you agree?
I believe if a person wishes to die and is of sound mind to make that decision they should be granted that right. Pray for their soul, pull the plug, and end their suffering.

[15] Do you believe in spanking your children?
No. And it's proven in many studies not to work. Time out is one of the most effective methods a parent can use - that's the one I support.

[16] Would you burn an American flag for a million dollars?
Yeah, and if you say you wouldn't you're either rich or a damn liar. Be real. You know you'd do it too for a million bucks. It's just a piece of cloth. Real patriotism is not found in a flag. It's found in your hearts.

[17] Are you afraid others will judge you from reading some of your answers? I honestly don't care. The worst that could be said to me has long been said. The worst pains already felt. There is nothing anyone else could ever do to make me feel bad after the way I've been treated. Sorry. After all the shit I've been through - I'm completely numb.

Going away for vacation to my home state of Louisiana from tomorrow until May 10th - so all my projects are postponed until then. Sorry! I won't have any way of working on my art while I'm there - but maybe I'll take along a sketch pad to stay in good drawing shape.

Annoyed

So I was a member of the group called Archives of the Profane which is of course a group that centers around macabre works. And this morning I get a journal entry (because I watch them), and it is titled "Massive Subscription Giveaway" or some such non-sense. Now, before I continue let me just say that I click on every journal entry I get and actually read it. Otherwise, it wouldn't make much sense to be subscribed to it now would it? So the title means nothing to me what-so-ever. Very rarely does a DA journal have a title which accurately describes every single facet of its content. Now, continuing on...

The entire thing turns out to be a gimmick to get people to read it. You can read it here: archivesoftheprofane.deviantar…, but in the the bulk of the message whines about how no one cares about their content

And I quote: "Ok ....! so i take it no one is remotely interested in this month's theme due to the complete lack of interest or even interaction on the subject, i must say i am disappointed that not even one out of the now 107 members could even take the time to at least tell me im a wanker and the theme is crap ..! right with the moaning out of th way ill try again ..!"

(maybe they should have better content)

And then goes on to say at the very bottom of the message that the whole "comment and get a free sub" thing is basically their way of finding out who's paying attention because it isn't real.

And I quote: "And for those of you have even bothered to read all the way down the bottom the subscription giveaway is compleat bollox, i would not give a sub away to people who only comment because there is something in it for them .... so lets see how many people bother to comment ..!"

Then of course when the few people who got excited commented, foolishly thinking they were gonna get a free sub, they were chided.

So I decide to comment because I'm annoyed I just wasted five minutes of my day reading something so juvenile. My comment was "This is me not bothering to comment for the bogus subscription give-away. And now I'm unsubscribing to the bogus journal entries."

So then the douche who originally wrote it comments on my comment saying "Pufft, dont get ya knickers in a twist darlin.... it is a real shame you have completely missed the point and if that is the way you feel about the situation im glad you are unsubscribing, afterall it seems that all people like you are after is a free sub."

My next comment was this: "First of all, I'm no one's "darlin". And second of all, I'm unsubscribing because I'm tired of all the junk mail - not because I'm after some free sub. I have money to pay for a sub if I really want one. You don't know me, you have no right to judge me, and you can kiss my @$$."

The idiot who tells me I'M the one who missed the point is actually the one who missed the f'n point. So now I feel fully justified not only unsubscribing to their idiotic journal entries, but also leaving the group entirely. I'm not nearly emo or suicidal, insane, or angry-at-the-world enough for that group anyway.

And then later on he goes on in another comment to call me a yapping dog. (Way to prove his maturity level, no?) It's not even worth commenting on, or bothering to quote, further.

But my main point is this: Maybe before you judge me you should actually try to THINK about WHY I wrote something and what my motivations were instead of jumping to conclusions and going all hot-headed egotistical male (which basically means you're a DUMB@$$)

Oh, yeah, and if I want a f'n subscription to DA I'll just up and pay for it.
